Rupert Cattell - Managing Director
Rupert is a qualified commercial solicitor with over 37 years’ experience in corporate finance and business sales, having set up and managed the second largest business brokerage in the country.
Having sold many thousands of businesses, Rupert is known as an expert in the sale of all types of businesses and his expertise and comments are often quoted in the National Press.
Rupert believes in providing professional business brokerage and company valuations for business owners wishing to sell quickly, confidentially and for the maximum value.
Rupert holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and is a keen sportsman, particularly rowing, when not spending time with his family.
Rob Dancey - Regional Manager
Rob celebrated 10 years with Turner Butler back in 2016. A decade within the business brokerage marketplace has provided him with invaluable insight and knowledge in the mergers and acquisitions sector. He has successfully sold hundreds of businesses during this time providing a highly professional yet personable service to his clients.
Rob had previously worked with some of the largest blue chip organizations in the world such as UBS and Vodafone. His experience includes the effective management of mission critical roll-out projects, from securing the business via commercial tendering and presentation to initial design and specification through to final manufacture and deployment, in many cases on a pan European scale.
Rob further developed and enhanced these skills by successfully running his own company for 7 years prior to joining the team at Turner Butler. His company provided bespoke IT infrastructure products to clients who required a unique product with quick turnaround and extremely high levels of service. This was achieved through strategic partnering, goodwill and excellent communication. This ability to fulfil clients’ requirements effectively and personally has positioned Rob well in his current role at Turner Butler.
Rob Edwards - Regional Manager
Rob Edwards has a background in marketing and advertising and an MBA from one of the UK’s highest ranked business schools; he has been a business owner from which he successfully exited and a board director in several other businesses. Rob specialises in a broad range of corporate transactions and business strategy advisory work, including mergers and acquisitions, share sales and purchases dealing regularly with private equity and venture capital investors, lending and financing transactions, as well as advising on MBO’s, transactions involving LLP’s, partnerships and joint ventures.
Rob has extensive experience of business management including outsourcing, sponsorship and merchandising, human resources, licensing, telecoms, technology and commercial agreements, strategic marketing, e-commerce and new media issues. He has worked across a range of sectors including fashion, marketing, hotels & hospitality, aviation, brands, media, sports, leisure and entertainment, internet, manufacturing, technology & telecommunications and energy sectors.
His clients have included hoteliers and restaurateurs, technology & telecoms companies, manufacturing businesses, intellectual property rights holders and owners, media and software businesses, international trading companies, as well as domestic and international investors and entrepreneurs.
John Haynes - Regional Manager
John has worked with and given advice to many hundreds of business owners over the past thirty years. His areas of expertise are primarily exit strategy planning and company growth via niche sector consolidation.
He has acquired a number of companies himself and at one point employed more than three hundred people.
Over the years he has worked with high profile industry leaders as well as a
number of top six accountancy firms. He has a great understanding of business
models and business cycles which in return brings reassuring expertise to company
owners who are considering their future options.
John has also previously been an angel investor in a number of 'start up' situations.
Charlie Francis-Smith - Regional Manager
Charlie has been involved in buying and selling of companies for 20 years. He is an experienced management consultant and has a legal and financial background. He has direct practical knowledge and experience in investing, establishing companies as well as developing them through acquisition and selling. He was founder and CEO of his own group of companies in investment management, real estate, venture capital and private equity. This included corporate finance, real estate, investments and pre IPO deals. This group was sold separately to a combination of private investors and a management buy out.
Charlie has worked with a whole range of clients to acquire and sell businesses. He provides strategic advice across a wide range of sectors. Advice has included advising on fund raising, financial management, compliance, corporate governance, developing income streams, marketing/PR and restructuring. His work has covered acquisitions, business development, mergers and AIM flotation’s as well as project specific and core fund raising through corporations, private individuals and charitable trusts.
He specialises in the SME sector and is a Non Executive Director and an angel investor to a number of start up companies.
